Tai Chi

Tai chi, short for tai chi chuan or tai ji quan depending on transcription, is an ancient form of mind-body exercise rooted in martial arts and traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). It is a type of Qigong, a healing technique of cultivating energy flow through breathing, mindfulness, and gentle movement.

"Tai chi is often described as "meditation in motion," but it might well be called "medication in motion." There is a growing evidence that this mind-body practice, which originated in China as a martial art, has value in treating or preventing many health problems." - Harvard Health Publishing, Harvard Medical School, 20 August 2019

Tai chi has evolved and is mainly practiced today as an excellent form of exercise.

When learned correctly and performed regularly, tai chi can be a positive part of an overall approach to improving your health. The benefits of tai chi may include: decreased stress, anxiety, and depression; and, improved mood, aerobic capacity, energy, stamina, flexibility, balance, agility, muscle strength, and definition," - Mayo Clinic, 26 February 2021

Could tai chi be the perfect activity for the rest of your life?
